How To Update QuickBooks?

Automatic update: 2 options

Option 1: Download and install automatic update NOW

  • From the main menu, go to Help > Update QuickBooks
  • Navigate to the Update Now tab from the Update QuickBooks window. Ignore the table as you don’t to do anything with this.
  • Mark the Reset Update checkbox if you want to remove all pervious update downloads but doing this can increase the amount of time require for the update.
  • Click on Get Updates.
  • Now restart your system and then open QuickBooks
  • Install the new release when prompted.

Option 2: Download automatically in the future

  • From the main menu, go to Help > Update QuickBooks
  • Navigate to the Options tab from the Update QuickBooks window.

Option 1: From within QuickBooks Desktop

Option 3: Critical Fixes (ULIP)

ULIP (Ultra Light Patch) feature in QuickBooks allows you to make minor critical fixes without any actual release patch. The patch release process will continue as is (R releases such as 2017 R5).
